British Gas have recently announced that they will be implementing price cuts on their energy cuts. And now, energy experts are saying that it's just the beginning of more energy price cuts, which can only be good news for the customers.
The move by British Gas should put pressure onto rival companies to at least match the discounts - they are expected to even exceed the 10% cut.

We all know the price of homes is falling quite drastically, but a terraced house in Teeside sold at auction for just £9,000! It was sold at auction, with a starting price of £5,000 and the prediction that it will cost £27,000 to renovate. It needs a new roof and stuff, but even when you include the renovation estimates, it will still only cost £36,000. And when the average price of a house in the same area is £45,000, it's a bit of a bargain!
A whole bunch of BBC celebs are having their salaries slashed by BBC bosses so that they can try and save some money during the crunch. Some of the big names having their wages docked include Chris Moyles, Jonathan Ross, Barbara Windsor and Terry Wogan - there's hundreds more reported. Cuts of 25% or more are planned for the big earners, including Moylesy, who is looking at £158,000 less. Jonathan Ross, who is on a 3-year contract worth £18m, could be looking at a reduction of £4.5m when it comes to his contract renewal. Daytime presenters could be faced with 10% cuts when renewals come around too - all existing deals won't be affected. ITV are also planning to cut some salaries, seeing stars such as Ant and Dec seeing their wages dip substantially.
A report in June 2008 found that the BBC had spent £242million in a year on their celebrities. 40 were reported to have earned in excess of £1million pa, while 300 were on between £100K and £500K. Nice work if you can get it!
I came across this IVA video when I was playing about on YouTube earlier. It's from a company called TalkAboutDebt and does actually have a few good tips in it.
Is it just me, though, or does that music remind you of the Mr Men?!
Gone are the days where the new years resolutions include giving up smoking and losing weight - now, it seems the main thing on people's minds is to be debt free as soon as possible. In fact, in a Halifax Credit Card poll, 57% of those asked said that this year was the year to check up on their money and work to become debt free.
I think it may take a bit longer for some of us to be debt free - the economy isn't exactly working in our favour...
